Former Director Called Home

E. Raymond Haddix, who served as SMMM's director from 1964 to 1987, went home to be with his Lord on Saturday, April 7. 2012 Adult Fellowship Dinner

The 2012 Adult Fellowship Dinner at Camp Nathanael, held on the last Friday of February, was a great success despite a very unusual week.  That Monday and Tuesday we were without electric and telephone service due to a very heavy, wet snowfall which toppled trees and power lines.  Since people were supposed to call in reservations for the dinner, we had no idea how that might affect attendance. New Girls Cabin Preparation Under Way

Work has begun on site preparation for a new girls cabin which will be situated behind the Chapel and below India.  Rob Cornett, a professional logger, with the help of our maintenance crew removed about twelve of the large pine trees in that area.  Rob donated his services, saving the Mission several thousand dollars. 2011 Outdoor Ed

Over 3,500 students, teachers and parents recently enjoyed a trip on Camp Nathanael's "airplane" over a four week period.  They learned about climates and seasons, geography and cultures around the world as part of our 2011 Outdoor Education Program.  That number included students from 45 school groups in 9 counties and 108 home schoolers.  The largest one day attendance was 273!
