Summer Camps – 2008

Camp Nathanael’s 2008 camp season was a tremendous opportunity to see God at work. Family Week – 2008

The first week of July found Camp Nathanael filled with the sounds of families enjoying the many activities and facilities of the camp. Over 300 people came from nine states for the camp’s Annual Family Week, July 1-4, 2008. The week was filled with a variety of activities for all ages. SMMM Receives National Award

SMMM was recently honored at the Appalachian Regional of the Association of North American Missions (ANAM) which was held at Youth Haven Bible Camp, Beattyville, KY, August 21-23. ANAM is an association of missions who focus their ministry efforts to reach North America for Christ. Former Staff Enters Heaven

Jeanne McCarty, who served with SMMM from 1977-1986, completed her earthly ministry on April 1, 2008 in Daytona Beach Florida. Jeanne and Glen came to the mission as second career missionaries, following Glen’s retirement from General Motors in Michigan, before that was the more common practice of today. Log House Project Underway

The long anticipated reconstruction and development of the log house, located on the Mosley Farm property acquired in 2006, is underway. This historic structure, built in the mid-1930s, has strong ties to SMMM’s early years. Mary Mosley prepared the meals the first year of camp in her “summer” kitchen adjacent to the house’s location and several mission families lived in it, including the Garland Franklin family. Camp Nathanael Scholarships Announced

SMMM is happy to announce the establishment of the Camp Nathanael Scholarship and the two outstanding students who are its first recipients. This competitive award is being made possible through the generosity of a former camper for students of the several county ministry area served by SMMM.
